Doc Searls would love this guy: Fan Yang, "[W]orld renowned Bubble Scientist and well-known international Artist/Performer, 9 times Guinness World Records Holder...," and undoubtedly the best $2.50 I've shelled out this year (followed hard by a Rocky Mountain white chocolate peanut butter cup back in February). Fan Yang is appearing through April 23 at the Discovery Science Center, Santa Ana. Man's got quite a way with a bubble — we have unique appreciation for that in the Golden State.
I'm sad to have missed Doc, JD, and a bevy of other smart folks this week at the Santa Barbara Forum, but Doc has kindly rounded up pertinent searches and tags (and hopefully had the chance to sculpt a bubble or two, poolside, for out-of-town guests).
