Today's New Blawg

The law student author of the Idea Outlet just turned me on to what will become part of the 99.99% of our holiday gifts purchased online this year: the Bob Dylan biography, Down the Highway. [Via Scheherazade] Babies are wonderful, but one's own transformation into a one-armed, shut-in, sleep-walking milk carton for the first month of their lives is not something that comes up often enough in texts extolling the joys of motherhood. (Mother Shock indeed!) As long as I'm posting book links, Sabrina Pacifici made my week with The Baby Owner's Manual: Operating Instructions, Trouble-Shooting Tips, and Advice on First-Year Maintenance, a geek's guide to everything infant, with illustrations and phraseology worthy of one of Engineer Scott's Technical Journals: "Hair: Not available upon delivery with every model. Tint may vary." A perfect companion to the ThinkGeek baby collection.
